I simply like the format better and know more people on there. The constant band invites is a bit annoying. Hell I'm in a band and we don't do that shit...come on guys if you are that desperate for fans something is wrong.

More Precise, MORE PRECISE!
The gap between language and experience has been taking up my time a lot of late. It's an interesting topic. As much as I hate to admit it, it seems the gap between thw two will never be fully closed (god damn hermenutical objection). It seems the gap can become close to being closed, but never fully tied up in our world. I have written a slew of papers of the last couple of years, but for some reason this last one has been a bit difficult to get out. Something about trying toi write on consciousness, experience, and language without taking mistep or misrepresenting something is amazingly difficult for me. I'm going to blame it on the limited amount of experience with Phenomenology, but who knows. At least I don't have to write on Chomsky (....interesting ideas but he has to be one of the most boring writers in the history of philosophy, worse than Leibniz)

Everything else going on is too tiresome or boring to go over, so there is your topic above.

Losing sight of what once could of been
Somewhere along the way politics, especially the way we talk about it, became more about winning and power then simply doing a good job enforcing and overlooking the rights of the people. The whole process, no matter who would of won, is starting to disgust me. This should not be a matter of who wins it should be a matter of taking into consideration what is best for our society as a whole. I don't think we will see this occur in your or my lifetime.

I would assume that if 48% of the population voted against (either Kerry or Bush) you would take notice of the fact that almost half of the voting country doesn't think you should have your new or previous job. The meaning behind this, I would think, becomes important for the president of a rather large union. While your party and yourself did come out on top in the elections, your job is still to govern for the entire population. In that sense one would NEED to take into careful consideration the opinions, emotions, and ideas behind the 48% of people who REALLY don't like you. Yes you can still govern from your party lines, and yes you can still hold dearly to your structured beliefs. Despite all of that, one would think you would need to take into consideration the mass of people who STRONGLY disagree with your viewpoint, so much so they wished to get you fired or booted from even getting into the job. These are your employers, they are your boss.

I don't think Bush or Kerry would have paid attention to the other side upon one of them winning. The democrats and republicans are equally horrible at this. Hell, they cannot even be horrible at it because they have never attempted to do it in the first place. The current process disgusts me, the people running the show disgust me (both democrats and republicans), and the people who still have faith in the system disgust me. Optimism is one thing, but the line between that and reason is razor sharp....I continually find myself surprised how many people somehow avoid being cut upon it.

I find it frightening beyond disgust that the pitfalls Marx talks of concerning capitalism are coming true, and the signs Dewey SHOWS US in the great community are available everywhere. I imagine at the end of the world a group of philosophers, scientists, doctors, and generally intelligent people will be standing on a hill somewhere swearing in frustration because they tried to warn everyone about themselves and no one paid it any attention.

Think about this one for a bit, above and beyond what benefits YOU personally, or what you think is right. This is a non-partisan post, it is simply an attack on the whole damn thing.

Current Mood: Disgust

Dnes jiz zapomenuti
It's interesting of late all the opportunities that are springing up. Besides various moves in acadamia and possible geographical moves due to graduate school things on the music front are kicking up once again. I'm flying to Houston in December to do session vocals on the new crimson massacre album, should come out great. They offered me a spot doing vocals on a 6 week european tour this summer as well. That would be pretty intense if I could pull it off. The schedule they were talking about was bordering on insane (a good thing in this case...being on tour with days off is boring as hell). Play a week worth of shows in England then spend the next 5 weeks playing everywhere from France to Russia (??). Hopefully this will all work out.

A ton of new things brewing on the philosophical front. Papers ranging from using science as a tool in ethics to Husserl's phenomenology and the structure of language (focusing on Husserl's turn towards intersubjectivity in the Cartesianische Meditationen und Pariser Vorträge). Definitely writing on a range of topics of late, but all of them seem to have language as a rather dominating figure (hence the turn towards analytic philosophy of the years). I think, in this day and age, it's kind of difficult to talk of philosophy and ignore the linguistic side of it. Ahh...I know the majority of those who read this have little or not interest in said subject so I'll quit talking about it and eventually post the papers when they are finished.

On top of that, helping run and organizing the philosophical society has been an interesting task in and of itself. Pretty good progress with debates ranging from ethics and politics to linguistics and epistemology.

Been awhile since I have posted, drop me a line to see who is still paying attention out there.

What do you mean by "Really"
I don't usually (I hope) post about huge amounts of personal shit, but figure I'd give it a shot real quick. On turning 22 today I was sitting outside of my job trying to think of all the things I've gotten done in said time span. Between personal triumphs, tours, writing, and progress in acadamia it seems there is still a ton of things left to be done (which is a good thing in case any of you are still paying attention). From here on out I think the question becomes how to get these things done and in what order. It seems a bit frustrating that a majority of things I wish to accomplish are, generally speaking, long range goals.

The main area of focus, as of now, I can think of is to get into graduate school as well as finally getting the band to make that final push up to a big record label. These are both two tasks that seem to pull me in different directions, interestingly enough. On second hand, maybe it isn't very interesting. Though it seems I get more response to these kinds of posts (rare as they seem to be) and short blurbs then I do to anything pertaining to philosophy. It's a shame popular opinion doesn't get things done over here.

I think my use of Livejournal is coming to an end shortly...simply for the fact there is no real point in posting in here. I sort things out in my head, don't keep a regular diary, and anything I have written or expressed of value isn't really worth putting on Livejournal. This is for the simple fact that I don't see the purpose of this (or the general interest of its' users)Livejournal community as being that of representing value....more so of spreading gossip, personal drama that thus becomes public, and just general pointless conversation.

The broken youth of today
While traveling across the country time lends itself to seeing an interesting spectrum of people and things. It seems that the frustration level and just general despair with all things is reaching some kind of all time high with the youth of america. It isn't just the way people act, or what they say, it's the writing on the wall, literaly.

Besides dope fiend messages sprawled across them, it's simply the utter messages of hatred and anger that seemed most suprising. You can expect such things in big towns where there are enough people to attractive every kind of group or atttiude, but when you see it pop up in every small town from here to hell and back it becomes a bit suprising. Signs of no hope.

I was in Jackson Tennesse when I all of this....of all the fucking towns, haha.

little help over here
I'm desperatly trying to find a copy of deadboy and the elephantmen album "If this is Hell then I'm lucky". Any help getting this one way or another would be much appreciated.....the band's email adress doesn't work anymore and I'm not blindly sending them $20 in hopes they actually mail me out the album.

Besides this everything else has, more or less, been going well enough. I keep wondering about developing some kind of naturalistic epistemology view point...and what kind of good this would do. I mean if, speaking of ontology, one could clear away every socialy constructed view point and thing/object and start from the basis (or start from as close as we can come to it) of what exists solely independent of ourselves I think one could start developing a sort of metaphysics free of bullshit.

No worries Quinton, this would not have to bring forth new terminology, hahaha...little joke there...very little, heh.
